Coaching Philosophy
Michelle utilizes an athlete-centered coaching philosophy designed to achieve the following:
Improved Athletic Performance
Peak athletic performance is attained by training two distinct components - body and mind. Comprehensive training programs are rooted in sound scientific principles that integrate and balance the physiological and mental aspects to produce outstanding athletic performance.
Athlete Education
One of my primary goals as a coach is to enhance my athletes' fundamental understanding of training principles and human physiology. By providing detailed answers to the questions of "Why?", "How?", and "What for?", I develop a "team approach" to athlete training; the idea that the athlete and coach are working together for the athlete's best interest. This "team approach" increases athlete confidence, motivation, and compliance all of which ultimately improve athletic performance.
Sport Enjoyment
It is important to remember that most people choose athletics because of the pure joy that participating in sport brings them. Creating an environment that fosters this enjoyment is paramount to their success. I strive to foster this enjoyment by developing fun and innovative workouts that challenge my athletes in all aspects of their training.
